The biggest Japanese event in India was held in Mumbai at High Street Phoenix, Lower Parel, on 6-7 February 2016. Cool Japan Festival captures the essence of both entertainment and business between Japan and India.
Top designer Narendra Kumar was Cool Japan Festival’s Brand Ambassador, and he was present to welcome Miss World Japan 2015 to this year’s event.
Cool Japan Festival has been held annually since 2012, as part of the 60th Anniversary of India-Japan relations. It aims to introduce Japanese food, culture, electronics, daily products and technology to Indians. It also provides Japanese companies an opportunity to get a first-hand sense of the Indian market, by directly interacting with the visitors – presenting their products, taking their feedback, and testing sales as well. The visitors enjoy Japanese cultural performances showcased on the stage, as they try out and purchase exhibited products while enjoying delicious Japanese food.
This year’s Cool Japan Festival was held under the theme ‘Let’s learn about Japan’. It was a free event, attracting over 100,000 footfalls, besides enthusiastic participation from Japanese companies. The Festival was supported by the Consulate General of Japan Mumbai, JETRO Mumbai and Japanese Association of Mumbai.
