The national edition of the 2016 Ricoh Education Excellence Awards was held in New Delhi on 19th February 2016. In addition to the grand awards ceremony, the event featured an engaging panel discussion by sector experts, and an enthralling acrobatic salsa performance. An experience zone was also set up at the venue, and included showcase of the Print DeskTM solution (Colour MFPs, CopyPrinters, Laser Printers, Mobile Printing, EZ-Charger), Projectors and Interactive White Board.
The awards function was attended by over 150 leading educationists, from over 60 institutes from across India.
Ricoh Education Excellence Awards have been instituted with the objective of encouraging the adoption of technology across higher education institutions, and to recognise their contribution towards utilising technology in several capacities.
The 2016 edition was held in collaboration with the Business World Group, and was further supported by Education World, Digital Market Asia and India Education Review. The complete evaluation process was executed by PwC, and by an independent jury comprising eminent educationists including Dr SS Mantha (former Chairman, AICTE), Dr CP Shrimali (Acting Director, MDI Gurgaon), Dr H Chaturvedi (Director, BIMTECH), Dr PB Sharma (Vice Chancellor, Amity University), Dr R Raghu Raman (Chairman, Amrita School of Business), Dr Sunit Tandon (former Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication), and Dr SK Salwan (Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University).
Award categories, nominations & winners
The 2016 Ricoh Education Excellence Awards comprised 5 institutional and 3 individual categories. A total of 132 nominations were received from 95 institutes from across the country. The initial screening was executed by PwC, followed by a detailed scrutiny by the jury. The selected winners were as follows:
