The 9th edition of Sign Today, an international exhibition of printing, packaging, converting and advertising took place in Chennaifrom April 22-24. The event provided a much-needed platform for technology providers and users to meet under one roof.
Ricoh India displayed its wide format capabilities at the show, which garnered huge interest from the visitors. On display were winner productssuch as the large-format inkjet printer RICOH Pro L4130/L4160, aimed at the signage industry, and the colour production printer RICOH Pro C5100S. RICOH Pro L4130/L4160 colour wide-format printer is used to produce brilliant signs, banners, wraps, point-of-sale displays and more, with real-life reproduction quality across today’s most innovative substrates.
The Indian printing and packaging industry is worth around Rs. 4 lakh crore in size, in which the market share of the South is approximately 40%, with industries like match box, signage, knitting and textiles. Hence Chennai was the ideal choice for such an exhibition to tap this market potential. The exhibition was supported by National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), and 24 companies were able to participate in this exhibition with NSIC support.
Sign Today was inaugurated by Thiru J.Jayakanthan, Director, Stationery & Printing Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Thiru AMSGAshokan,President, South India Printers Association (SIPA), Thiru K. Krishna Reddy,President, South India Corrugated Manufacturers Association (SICBMA) and Thiru R. Senguttuvan, Chief Executive, Packaging & Printing, ITC Limited were the Guests of Honour who lighted the Kuthuvilakku during the inauguration.
Around 150 exhibitors from across the country participated in the exhibition. Moreover, we had about 11,000 industry visitors during this three-day event, who found this to be a good opportunity to experience Ricoh’s innovative technology first-hand.
Latest technologies, machinery, equipment and services available in India and abroad were showcased at the exhibition. The highlights of the exhibition were new product launches, and running equipment with live demo. The show was also a success in providing access to global technology and services in the printing, packaging and converting industries.
Ricoh’s stall witnessed an overwhelming response, with 500+ visitors from various parts of southIndia such as Vellore, Bangalore,Madurai, Coimbatore,Thrissur,Sivakasi, Cochin and Erode.
