Ricoh India Limited, a leader in the field of Imaging Solutions & IT Services has released an application that makes its business-class printers and multifunction products (MFPs) Google Cloud Print Ready. It allows companies to print directly from smartphones, tablets, laptops and other devices.

With Ricoh App for Google Cloud Print web printing services, organisations can make significant savings on hardware and software as it does away with the need to install expensive and time consuming print servers. Ricoh App uses Google Cloud Print to submit and manage print jobs. Google Cloud Print then sends the print job to the Ricoh Printer, with the particular options the user selected and provides print-job status within the App itself.

Speaking at the launch, ATRajan, MD & CEO of Ricoh India said, “The new application is part of Ricoh’s information-mobility strategy, which will enable our customers to easily access, transform and manage information even when on the move. It’s another way we’re making information work for our customers in today’s dynamic business environment.”

Ricoh App for Google Cloud Print web printing services enable enterprise customers to achieve employee productivity as well as reduce dependability on a computing device to print. They also work as a backbone for ‘bring your own device’ concept. For SMBs, the Education sector, and non-profit government agencies, this application will help reduce the overall IT cost for the organisation and leverage the capabilities of business-class document services at a lower cost. For example, Ricoh App is ideal for elementary schools where many students use cloud-friendly Google Chromebooks. Designed to leverage cloud apps, the laptops are tightly integrated with cloud-based applications in the Google ecosystem, including Google Cloud Print.

Ricoh App for Google Cloud Print web printing services can be added to new as well as some of the existing Ricoh MFPs. This will help the customer to have the similar feature in new as well as existing devices. The application is simple and can be installed from a remote management console. Also, the invited users or authorised guests can then print directly from their Chrome web browser or other cloud print ready application.
